Kelly, 1914, also noted that 'The D Squadron, The Cheshire (Earl of Chester's) Yeomanry Territorial Force have head quarters at The Barracks, Crompton road.'
The drill hall has been converted into good quality apartments. Its facade seems intact and its plaques have been retained in situ.
Although Crompton Barracks are not a drill hall, we have included photographs for interest.
