Louth

Eve street

Lincolnshire Yeomanry (B Squadron)
1st North Midland Brigade, 3rd Lincolnshire Battery
5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment (D Co.)

All references are from Kelly 1913. In 1896 Kelly specified the address as 4 Eve street.

Kelly, 1913, also records:‘5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment (D Co.); depot, Drill hall, Northgate; butts, Hallington.’

The Times, Monday May 31st, 1920, reported: “A sudden flood, caused by a cloud-burst, swept through the Lincolnshire town of Louth on Saturday afternoon, creating havoc in its path. The fire station was completely demolished, and the Artillery Drill Hall suffered the same fate.”

The Rifle Drill Hall in Northgate, Louth was offered for sale in July 1946, as evidenced by the following correspondence. The advertisement contains an interesting description of the Drill Hall specifications.
